Hey all,
here's one of mine. I have a 1972 boa ski mark II 292 with which has a single cylinder Hirth engine. I had a look and I actually don't have a pic on my computer! So here is a pic of another one, looks very similar to mine it is also a 292.
This is easily the favourite of my 3 sleds, next to my '74 TNT 440. I got this sled out from my grandpa's old barn about 14 years ago and have kept it ever since so it has a lot of sentimental value. It needed work from sitting so long but was largely in decent shape all considered. It had been home to numerous animals over the years as well. I stripped it completely down and rebuilt the engine to get it running good again.
This sled is the most fun to ride for sure. There just aren't many like it. When I had it fixed up and running well it would do about 60kms top speed although I never really tried to max it out and it was not in perfect shape so I'm really not sure just how fast you can get a perfect condition one going. This sled is so light, it just bobs around everywhere through the snow and just floats over the deep stuff far far better than you would ever think it could. It's super easy and fun to handle with a lot of character.
hopefully I can find some pics of my actual sled and post them up. I haven't run it for several seasons and I'm waiting for the right year to do a full-on $$$ restoration. I plan to restore this to way better than new condition while staying true to all of it's history and character - sort a chip foose style restoration so to speak but less noticeable modern touches.
cheers,
Dave
